Abstract: Reporting to the Manager, Strategic
Partnerships, the Team Lead, 211 Community Resource Department (CRD) is
responsible for assisting with the activities necessary to ensure the effective
& efficient operation of the 211 Program. 211 is a 24-hour information|referral
line that helps people connect to social, health and government services. The
position supervises a team of Community Resource Specialists - Database
Curators who identify & research new and updated community services
information to respond to changing needs and resources of communities. The
position will oversee the maintenance and growth of the 211 database and ensure
the adherence to associated accreditation standards. It is involved in the
coordination of staff projects and tasks.
Qualifications/Experience
| Related
post-secondary Diploma (in Project Management, Library & Information Studies, Social Science, etc.) • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a dBase administration
role and/or community liaison role where an extensive knowledge of community
resources was required • Successful attainment & maintenance of AIRS
Certified Resource Specialist designation or willingness to work towards the
designation • Previous supervisory experience is an asset • Successful
Completion of Gender Based Analysis + Training & Brain Story Certification an asset.
Skills/Abilities
| Demonstrated
abilities in program management, program delivery and evaluation • Demonstrated
supervisory abilities & understanding of the objectives of the 211 CRD and
the organization • Strong interpersonal, verbal|written
communication skills • Strong working knowledge of dBase management
principles, including taxonomy • Ability to work both independently and as a
team member • Ability to set priorities and allocate time and resources
effectively • Demonstrated understanding of:
mental health; mental illness and recovery; information & referral
services; and crisis intervention • Ability to work independently, set
priorities, meet deadlines and allocate time and resources effectively •
Organizational|problem-solving skills • Ability to effectively use MS Office
and other dBase related program software •
Ability to deal effectively with the public and community agencies and maintain
good public relations.
