Cultural Festival of
Lights Fundraiser:
The Star of the North Retreat
Centre celebrates 65 years of service to the St. Albert and Edmonton area on
Sunday, Jan. 12, 2 to 5 pm, at Holy Family Church, 75 Poirier Ave., St. Albert.
Enjoy an afternoon of ethnic foods and presentations from a variety of
cultures. Adults: $50; Families: $100 (max 2 adults & 3 children);
Students: $35.00.

Shipwrecked on Malta
with St. Paul:
The biblical theme for this year’s Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is drawn
from St. Paul’s shipwreck on the island of Malta. It reflects the faith of St.
Paul, divine providence and the ecumenical virtue of hospitality. Held Jan.
17-18 at Star of the North Retreat Centre, 3A St. Vital Ave., St. Albert.
Facilitators: Sr. Teresita Kambeitz, OSM, and Julien Hammond. Cost: Live-in:
$150; Commuters: $100.

Listening to Your
Life:
This Feb. 1 retreat will
use ecological metaphor to engage and uncover what is stirring in your inner
world through group dialogue and guided solitude time. Facilitators: Jodi
Lammiman & Amy Spark of Refugia Retreats. Time: 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Cost:
$95.

Power of Scripture to
Transform:
Faith, Freedom and Living Life to the Full: Archbishop Emeritus Sylvain Lavoie,
OMI, leads three Thursday evening sessions – Feb. 6, 13 and 20 from 7 to 9 pm –
on Scripture passages in which God
meets our need to be loved, calms our inner storms and enables us to move from
being stuck in grief to good grieving. Cost: $80.00

Finding Serenity
Through Surrender:
A Recovery Retreat: This
workshop/retreat is open to anyone interested in learning more about the
addictive process, a spirituality of recovery, inner healing and the 12-Step
program. The Feb. 7-8 event will focus on aspects of a life of sobriety that is
joyful and free, serenity and surrender. Facilitators: Sylvain L. and
Justin R. Cost for Live-ins, $150; Commuters, $100.

Slow Down Retreat
Day:
Em-Bodied Spirits: Embracing Our Physical Selves: Sandy Prather will lead the
group in exploring the gift of our bodies with gratitude. Feb. 20, 9:30 am to
3:30 pm. Cost: $40.

Healing Through
Celtic Spirituality:
Fr. Matt Linn, SJ, leads a retreat
focusing on how ancient Irish spirituality heals our relationship with
creation, others, ourselves and God, who from the first moment saw that it was
good. Feb. 28 to March 1. Cost: Live-in, $250; Commuters: $190.
