EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY | Candora Society | Position: English Language Learning Instructor | General: This full-time position, is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of the ELL Program. Program hours (up to 35 hours per week) are determined based on the funding received. Position Reports to: Coordinator of Adult Learning Programs. Note: posting will remain open until Oct. 20, 2019. The position will begin November 4, 2019.

RESPONSIBILITIES | Develop learner centered & inclusive lessons, utilize appropriate themes and plans for variety of learning levels; Facilitate ongoing ELL classes to diverse groups of adults with a variety of English abilities; Provide support to participants at their individual learning levels; Participate as part of Candora’s Adult Program team to collaborate with co-facilitators concurrently delivering an ELL component within other agency programs; Support writing of reports and funding proposals; Develop and implement evaluation surveys and or assessment tools; Register, interview and track participants; Supervise ELL volunteers; Schedule and coordinate field trips and guest speakers; Participate in community connecting activities; Provide monthly reports; Other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS | Bachelor’s degree & TESL, (A)TESOL, TEFL, or TEAL certification preferred. Previous experience teaching adult English Language Learners. Have a commitment to the mission, vision & goals of the Candora Society; Aware of the resources in the community; Possess excellent facilitation skills and experience in participatory educational approaches; Demonstrated knowledge & intercultural experience in working with people of different cultural backgrounds; Awareness of and sensitivity to the issues of immigrants and/or newcomers to Canada; Have excellent oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of MS Office; Ability to respond to changes in environment and expectation in a flexible manner; Possess good time management and organizational skills; Strong relationship building, interpersonal and collaborative skills; Training in and or understanding of the Canadian Language Benchmarks.
