Abstract | Reporting to the
Executive Assistant and Director Resource Development, the Resource Development
Summer Student is responsible for providing administrative support, planning
and executing activities in the Resource Development area of the Canadian
Mental Health Association Edmonton. Specific duties performed may include:
planning, executing and providing administrative and promotional support to
special events and campaigns; providing acknowledgment letters; and the
provision of administrative/coordination support for third party events.
The
Resource
Development Summer Student will
also work with and support social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook
to promote and market agency and third party events. It will liaise with
the public, stakeholders and external organizations in relation to agency
events and activities, and maintain good public relations.
Qualifications/Experience
| Post-secondary
student (2nd or 3rd year preferred) in a related field • Previous experience
with various social media applications is required • Previous experience in the non-profit sector in a paid or unpaid capacity is
preferred • Acceptable attainment & maintenance of a Police Information Check with a
Vulnerable Sector Check.
Skills/Abilities | Strong interpersonal,
verbal|written communication skills • Ability to work independently, set
priorities, meet deadlines|allocate time|resources effectively • Possess organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, a high degree of
accuracy & excellent time management|prioritization skills • Skills in the
understanding & use of social media platforms including Twitter|Facebook
to advance agency priorities • Ability to deal effectively with the other
staff, the public and stakeholders & maintain good relations • Ability to
work effectively in a multi-task environment & manage multiple projects as
required • Demonstrated initiative and ability to respond to situations with
maturity and composure • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and
weekends • Ability to effectively use MS Office (including familiarity with
Excel, Publisher & PowerPoint).
