πŸ•Š Deciding on a new hobby? Travelling to a Spanish speaking country? Learn Spanish with the Edmonton Hispanic Bilingual Association. Offering beginner to advanced level Spanish language classes, their interactive format is designed to bring students up to speed as fast as possible—and you can choose from either online or in-person classes. 

J Online classes: 

• September 19 - December 9, 2023 

• Tuesdays (7:00 - 8:30 p.m.) and Saturdays (10:00 - 11:30 a.m.)

• Live format via Zoom

• Cost:  $270 – for 30 hours of instruction over 10 weeks.  

J In-person classes: 

• September 14 - December 21, 2023

• Thursdays: 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

• Takes place at McKernan School in Edmonton

• Cost: $320 - for 35 hours of instruction over 14 weeks.

The stages of student, householder, forest dweller and sage offer a profound map for the spiritual seeker and invite different sets of questions and life tasks.

This opportunity will be a full-time permanent position. You will get to work on a small team with a great passion for guiding & seeing new Canadians succeed! The Networking Program Director is responsible for the following ERIEC Networking Programs: Connector Program. Smart Connections. Speed Career Networking. Alberta Global Talent Conference. 

🍁 Specific accountabilities include: Plan, organize, and direct all activities as required for full implementation of the above Networking Programs. Ensure the program meets targets, budgets and time-lines, with appropriate reporting|evaluation. Develop & manage relationships with program partners-stakeholders (employers, government, service providers, ethno-cultural communities, academic institutions). Plan and execute small- and large-scale events, taking responsibility for the creative, technical, and logistical elements. Supervise the Connector Program Coordinator. Contribute to social media-related activities, including the ERIEC blog, newsletter, website, LinkedIn and Twitter accounts. 

🍁 As the Networking Program Director, you enjoy contributing strategically to organizational growth. You will possess the following: University degree, licensure or background in education, project management, event planning, business administration, or equivalent. Previous work in human services and non-profits is an advantage but is not required. Advanced computer skills. Must be proficient with the use of MS Office, Teams, Zoom, dBase management systems and other computer software. Experienced & passionate about working with adults from diverse backgrounds. 

🍁 As a valued employee at ERIEC, you will receive the following: Salary at $ 60-62K / year + Health benefits after three months of employment and Three (3) weeks annual vacation.

🍁 This PLEI project seeks to bring together community members & leaders with legal system stakeholders. Together, they will design & deliver educational sessions and opportunities that support community members to understand-navigate the legal system – particularly in situations of family violence. At the same time, the sessions will increase the knowledge of legal system stakeholders about the context and lived experience of cultural minorities encountering the legal system.

🌈 The role of the cultural broker will be to: Network within the Spanish-speaking community in Edmonton to engage appropriate leaders and community members in conversations about family violence and the legal system, supporting them to come together with other stakeholders to design, plan and deliver educational sessions opportunities.

πŸ™ This requires some understanding of the diversity within the Spanish-speaking community & sensitivity to internal dynamics. You will carry a small caseload of families affected by family violence, helping with system navigation, providing holistic support – funneling the learning from front-line work into project development.

πŸ«‚ And you will also work productively in a team setting with both the project coordinator and cultural brokers who have extensive experience in the Spanish speaking community in Edmonton and regularly support families who are experiencing family violence.
