📌 BOARD RECRUITING | CCI-LEX is looking for individuals who are passionate about empowering newcomers with the language skills and community connections they need to succeed to join our Board of Directors & committees. Note: deadline for both positions is April 1, 2024. 

 

📌 About: The Cultural Connections Institute – The Learning Exchange provides flexible and accessible English language classes for adult newcomers with an emphasis on community-building | cultural exchange. We are also a registered charity based in downtown Edmonton, changing the lives of thousands of newcomers since 2003. 

 

📌 Currently the CCI-LEX Board of Directors & Fund Development & Community Engagement Committee are recruiting new members. These are volunteer positions that play important roles in supporting our work and the long-term success of the organization. We are seeking individuals from a variety of backgrounds and experiences to reflect the diversity of our community. 

 

📌 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work well in small groups, and previous experience with non-profits and/or non-profit boards, adult education, immigration, language or settlement sectors are considered assets.

📌 ALBERTA GLOBAL TALENT CONFERENCE 2024

Empowering Professionals, Connecting Paths, and Shaping Dreams. 

The Alberta Global Talent Conference is a one-day event with no cost for participants. When: Tuesday; March 12^th 2024; 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Where: Fantasyland Hotel & Conference Centre, West Edmonton Mall, 17700 87 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5T 4V4 (In Person). 

For the past 13 years, the annual Alberta Global Talent Conference has consistently stood out as one of Alberta's preeminent global talent events. It caters to Internationally Educated Professionals seeking meaningful connections & inspiration from established immigrants and local professionals within the thriving Alberta business community, individuals who have notably achieved success in attaining their Canadian dreams. In its 14^th iteration, the conference will be hosted by the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) under the captivating theme: Empowering Professionals, Connecting Paths, and Shaping Dreams. 

Keynote Speaker: Lori-Ann Muezner – Canada’s 1st Olympic Cycling Gold Medal in Athens, Greece by using her mindset to overcome countless obstacles, challenges and adversity – she was 38, worked full time, and raced against competitors half her age to win gold.
