EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Context: ECALA has been working for the 3 years with the Indigenous Community to centre our work within Indigenous Ways of Knowing. 

We are in the process of implementing recommendations from our Indigenous Advisory Committee in order to support Indigenous literacy and learning programs that meet the unique needs of Indigenous learners with components of both an Indigenous framework & adult learning principles.

The Position | The Indigenous Education Liaison position reports to the Executive Director. Primary objectives of the position include supporting ECALA as we implement changes to the funding process for Indigenous literacy and learning programs; providing coaching and education to funded organizations, ECALA staff and other stakeholders who have the desire to engage Indigenous learners to participate in programs within the Community Adult Learning Program (CALP) Grant; and building relationships between ECALA staff and urban Indigenous community, including Elders and Knowledge-keepers. 


Compensation: Salary range will commensurate with experience, education and other similar non-profit organizations · Health Spending Plan of $2500.00 per fiscal year available after three-month probationary period, in addition to RRSP contribution of 2.5% per salary after one year of employment.
