Theatre Yes Presents > VISCOSITY | Nov. 07-17, 2018

Theatre Yes presents VISCOSITY
Black gold, true tales, real lives …

Theatre Yes is proud to present VISCOSITY, a brand new installation that is part exhibition, part journalism and part performance. VISCOSITY sheds light on the lives of Alberta oil workers across a variety of ages, genders, sexualities, cultures, and perspectives. Created from transcriptions of interviews with Alberta’s oil industry, VISCOSITY challenges what we think we know about the people who work in big oil, and who those people are to begin with. This innovative performance installation brings all Albertans together in conversation about life inside and outside the patch.

“The reality and complexity of ordinary peoples’ experience working in the epicentre of Canada’s most contentious and powerful industry is not often given voice in public space. VISCOSITY will give us the opportunity to share time and space with the men and women and men whose lives and work are fuel for our society.” – Heather Inglis, Theatre Yes Artistic Producer

VISCOSITY plays at the Backstage Theatre (10330 84 Avenue) from November 7 to 17, 2018. Audience members may come anytime during performance times and stay as long as they wish. Tix are now on sale at TIX on the Square (9930-102 Avenue, Sir Winston Churchill SQ. by phone 780.420.1757 | Online: www.tixonthesquare.ca and at the door.
