EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY | ERIEC www.eriec.ca | Position: Program Director, Career Mentorship Program | Terms: Full-time | Hours: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm | Salary: $53,000 - $61,000 | Closing Date: 5pm, Friday, October 5th, 2018. About: The Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) addresses issues of labour market integration for internationally trained professionals. ERIEC collaborates with business, immigrant service providers, ethno-cultural communities, post-secondary institutions and all three levels of government for the purpose of increasing capacity in the Edmonton Region to better connect employers to internationally trained professionals. ERIEC is dedicated to implementing innovative, high-impact strategies/initiatives for increasing the number of skilled immigrants employed to their full potential in Edmonton. | Purpose: Reporting directly to the E. D., the Program Director will be responsible for the administration, marketing, coordination and evaluation of the Career Mentorship Program.
Responsibilities | Plan, organize/direct all activities as required for full implementation of the Career Mentorship Program (CMP); Ensure the program meets targets, budgets and timelines, with appropriate reporting and evaluation; Represent ERIEC with employers, government, academic, ethno-cultural communities and immigrant service provider stakeholders; Develop & manage relationships with stakeholders; Develop and deliver outreach strategies for marketing the program to potential mentees and mentors; Target & approach potential corporate partners (employers, organizations, and professional associations); Manage corporate partners, including communication regarding program participation and planning; Supervise the Program Assistant and the Mentorship Facilitator; Deliver presentations on the program, staff booths and events to promote ERIEC and CMP.
In addition: Recruit mentees/mentors; Supervise screening & interviewing of mentee applicants; screen & interview mentor applicants; Provide support to mentors and mentees pre-, during, and post-program; Manage client files (physical file copies and internal dBase system); Coordinate implementation of Intercultural Workshops; Monitor the progress of the program; analyze, evaluate/report on program outcomes to Board and Funder(s); Act as liaison to other ERIEC staff and board to ensure coherence and coordination with other ERIEC programs; Contribute to social media related activities, including the ERIEC blog, website, LinkedIn and Twitter. Other tasks as required.
Qualifications & Skills Required: Post-secondary education (University education in related field; equivalencies are acceptable) with 3+ years of related experience; Demonstrated program coordination, evaluation/budgeting experience; Demonstrated skills in managing stakeholder relations including facilitating diverse partnerships, providing strategic direction and problem solving; Understanding of and experience with engaging the corporate sector in community-based programs; Knowledge of skilled immigrant labour market access issues; Strong knowledge of employment services for skilled immigrants; Excellent organizational, project management, time-management, presentation, communication (both verbal and written English) and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to respond to changing priorities; Strong competence in computer applications (MS Office Suite); Experience with social media an asset.
